Walking A Picasso , The story behind the Art

Wallking A Picasso 2010

It was a late night 2010 in downtown Houston, TX where I was painting in my spacious studio in scrubs like I was a doctor or something . I had Sting on the record player trying to conjur up a painting on canvas and getting no where. I had just met a new love intrest and could not get her off my mind when a couple of friends unexpectly barged in my studio late night wanting to go party. I was covered in paint with no change of clothes and really had no intrest in going out bar hopping with them but as good friends do they make bad decisions for you . That being said I let them drag me out just blocks from my studio as we walked into the 1st bar it was packed everyone got drinks but me I don't drink.

The whole time there I was constantly thinking about how I don't really want to be out and definitely didn't look the part . When drinks were finished we started walking to the next bar all I could think of was this new girl and the frustration of not accomplishing anything on canvas in my studio an hour before . As we get to the next bar and more drinks I think they could realize I was in my head and not really there having fun with them, so therefore I left them with their drinks in hand and started walking back to my studio to go throw paint at this point. When arriving back at the studio I decided why not paint the experience that I just had.

So in the painting you wll see an artist very Picassio like walking with a work of art ,paint supplys , and a woman which were all the things in my head walking to the bars that night. You will also see an outlet and plug in the painting because I was never connected to my group of friends are in the moment. Last there was lips to reperesent a kiss, french art and romance. I used a limited palette to convey that my mind that night was limited to only a few thoughts thus spawing the creation of Walking A Picasso and rememberiing a small moment in 2010.
